Officially Missing You - Tamia (Cover) (*Disclaimer: I've only had my guitar for just under a month now, so I'm still learning... I really wanted to do the song below, "Well Done" by Passion... beautiful song...)
Wow, what a summer - one full of both joy and laughter, sadness and tears. I am finally back in Montreal for my last semester at McGill, as I will be graduating in December. :) And so, here are a few pictures and one video describing my summer. Enjoy, and mahalo for caring!
Although it all began with some sad news, I've realized that he's in a better place. I will always love him.
The Times Colonist actually did an article.
Kevin and I saw each other quite a bit. We had an awesome time catching up. Here we are in Vancouver.
In addition to the time I spent in Vancouver with Kevin, Chris and I took a day trip over to Vancouver with our good friends Michelle and Hugh. :) We were really blessed to be able to spend so much time with them this summer. :) Here we all are having dim sum at an awesome Chinese restaurant in Vancouver.
My family, Chris and I did the Relay for Life with the Canadian Cancer Society. What a blast we had! We ended up raising quite a bit of money! Here we are: Team Give Hope!
As well, I did a 10 km run in Vancouver, and Chris did the 5 km walk. Funds were raised for cancers below the waist in an awesome fundraiser called, "The Underwear Affair". Here we are in our undies in Vancouver ready to run for the cure!
Chris' cousin, Chris' cousin's girlfriend, and Chris' cousin's girlfriend's sister all came to Victoria from Bulgaria! It was so much fun! Here we are standing behind the Bulgarian flag!
And as you know, I went back to work at Custom House once again, for the third summer in a row, with Vantage. It was awesome! My coworkers and I had a blast my last night in Victoria.
The last week of the summer, my family and I went to Hawaii to visit our relatives! We enjoyed ourselves at Waikiki Beach.
Furthermore, we had an awesome time at the Paradise Cove Luau!
And finally, the highlight of my entire summer, my baptism in Hawaii! I have been waiting for years to get baptized by my uncle. However, the time was never right. Well, God allowed for us to go to Hawaii this year, and boy was it worth the wait! Here's a picture and a video!
"Sorry, I never told you, all I wanted to say.
Now it's too late to hold you.
Cause you've flown away, so far away.
Never, Had I imagined, living without your smile.
Feeling and knowing you hear me.
It keeps me alive. Alive!
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven,
Like so many friends we've lost along the way,
And I know eventually we'll be together.
One sweet day.
Picture a little scene from Heaven.
Darling, I never showed you.
Assumed you'd always be there.
I took your presence for granted.
But I always cared
And I miss the love we shared.
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven.
Like so many friends we've lost along the way.
And I know eventually we'll be together.
One sweet day.
Picture a little scene from Heaven.
Although, the sun will never shine the same, I'll
always look to a brighter day.
Yeah, Lord, I know, when I lay me down to sleep,
You'll always listen, as I pray!
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven,
Like so many friends we've lost along the way,
And I know eventually we'll be together.
One sweet day.
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven,
Like so many friends we've lost along the way,
And I know eventually we'll be together.
One sweet day.
It has been a tough week or so. I recently just found that one of
my closest friends, Michael, has been diagnosed with colon
cancer. God has shown me a way to deal with it, and I encourage
you to please go to the following link and read about what I've been up
to:
After reading my story, if it touches your heart, please donate to the
cause. All it takes is 5 minutes and a credit card. I have
arranged with the Canadian Cancer Society for all funds through my
website to be channelled directly to colon cancer
research/treatment. Friends, it is time that we take a
stand. Cancer is affecting way too many people - 1 in 3
Canadians. So please join me in this fight. Thanks!
It has been a while since my last update. Christmas has come and
gone, and the business of the new year has already begun to
overwhelm. I had a wonderful Christmas back at home: I had a
great time seeing family and friends again and I also got to see Chris
for a week before he left for China at which point drama re-entered my
life.
Highlights from Christmas:
(Hmmm, there's a limit on how many pictures I can upload, so I will only put a few.)
Me and Chris enjoying some nice BC ice wine.
Chris, me, Michelle and Hugh chilling and watching a hilarious movie.
School has kept me busy so far. I have really been enjoying my
courses this semester, over and above all other semesters. I'm
loving Canadian Constitution, and have chosen to write my paper on the
Charter remedies for accused persons (ex. exclusion of evidence
clause). It's really interesting learning about all the different
court cases and how such interpretations have helped to evolve the role
of the Supreme Court of Canada. Also, American Government is
really neat as well! I'm fascinated with the American counterpart
cases which have really shaped Canadian cases. Health Psychology
is thrilling as I'm learning about stress and various other
topics. Human Motivation is amazing! The prof is
entertaining, and the material is engaging. I'm actually reading
the book, "Top of the Class: How Asian Parents Raise High Achievers,
and How You Can Too" for my paper in that class. Haha, it's
hilarious. And finally, Religious Behavior is interesting because
it adds a psychological spin on the traditional religious studies
course.
I have toned down the extra-curriculars (although over this past
reading week, I have now become the Chief Returning Officer for the
Elections Political Science Students' Association which should be fun,
but time-consuming) and have been eating healthy, sleeping appropriate
amounts, and working out almost daily. Things have been really
good. :)
Highlights from this semester:
Michele and I went and had a wonderful night at the spa - this is us showing our manicures.
Jon came to visit from New York and so I got a chance to catch up with him for a bit.
Chris came to visit me during the reading week. We had an awesome
time! Here we are enjoying sushi at Le Petit Treehouse.
Mmmm.
Here we are enjoying a wonderful horse-drawn carriage ride touring through Old Port. It was so beautiful!
Chris and I enjoying the beauty of the Notre-Dame Basillica.
Me and Chris at the Olympic Stadium and Biodome before spending all our time watching the cute penguins.
Chris and I just chilling in my apartment.
Hahaha, and here I am with the Red Bull car! ;)
Yes, so things are going really well. :) Anyway, I should
go do some work before Church tonight. I'll talk to you
soon! Take care!
Lots of Love,
~ McGill Princess ~
Therefore I tell you, do not worry
about your life... but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do
not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matthew 6:25, 33-34
